By Samuel O. Doku (Washington, DC). Sunday, December 31, 2017 was not only the end of the month but also the end of the year, and as if by a brilliant calculation, the topic that informed the sermon of the Senior Pastor of Amazing Love Church Ministry Int’l was “the Rebuilding of Life through the East Gate.”
The East Gate is the gate that has been prophesized to play a significant role in the Second Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ because it will be the gate of his entry to judge the living and the dead. “Jerusalem has ten gates, but the alignment of the gates has connection to the Lord,” said SeniorPastor Georges Ntemi.
In a synopsis to review the gates grounded in the series, he stated that the Sheep Gate pointed to the Cross, and whosoever wants to be called the child of God must acknowledge the Savior dying on the Cross for the salvation of humanity.
The Fish Gate is symbolic of evangelizing to win souls for Christ while the Old Gate has its significance in the sense that institutions like traditional marriage that the Lord has blessed, no one must put asunder. He noted that the Valley Gate is suggestive of the fact that life is not a perpetual honey-moon and that as soon as one gives one’s life to Christ, one would face challenges. A determination to still believe in the Lord and have the faith that He will lead you through any adversity is what distinguishes genuine believers from charlatans masquerading as born-again Christians.
The Dung or Refuse Gate is symbolic of the realization that certain things must be discarded out of one’s life because they are not conducive to Christian lifestyle and must be shunned. The Fountain Gate is symbolic of the Holy Spirit and the need for Christians to allow themselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit; otherwise, they would be living a life of futility.
“The Water Gate speaks to the word of God. It’s important that as a Christian, you read the Bible so that in all things relating to God, you would know what you are talking about,” said the Blessed Man of God.
The Horse Gate is symbolic of warfare. “After you have given yourself to Christ, everything else changes. Everything becomes a daily combat against the devil and his agents; it’s warfare.”
Last but not the least, the East Gate signifies the Apocalypse, end times where satan represented by the antichrist will be in fiery combat with good, represented by Christ Himself, but in the end, Christ will be the monarch of all He surveys.
The Blessed Man of God then read Nehemiah 3: 29, “Next to them, Zadok son of Immer made repairs opposite his house. Next to him, Shemaiah son of Shekaniah, the guard at the East Gate, made repairs. Zadok means righteous son of God. Immer means the Lord has promised, and Shekaniah means one who is intimate with the Lord. Shekaniah is the guard at the East Gate.”
He stated that the Lord heard the one who was intimate with Him, so He gave Shekaniah the East Gate to guide. “Our lives are open to destruction, so if one opens up to everybody, sooner or later, your life will be destroyed because you don’t know who you are forming the alliance with. The East Gate is the gate through which the Lord will come as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords,” said the Blessed Man of God.
Ezekiel 44: 1-3 point out, “Then the man brought me back to the outer gate of the sanctuary; the one facing east, and it was shut. The Lord said to me, ‘The gate is to remain shut. . . . It must remain shut because the Lord, the God of Israel, has entered through it.”
He revealed that because Christ entered Jerusalem through the east gate on a colt on Palm Sunday to the Temple, it was shut after His crucifixion, but years later when Jerusalem fell to the Turks, a sultan of Turkey turned the ground into a burial ground for Moslems to repel Rabbis from having anything to do with the place. “That he believed would prevent Rabbis from going there because they don’t walk among corpses. But unbeknownst to the sultan, he was fulfilling a prophesy. The gate is to remain shut until the Mighty Warrior arrives and an earthquake from Mt. Horeb will dismantle the 16-foot concrete that has been loaded into the gate, for the Mighty Warrior and the King of Kingsto enter Jerusalem through the East Gate,” said the Blessed Man of God.
Pastor Georges paraphrased Charles Burgin who wrote about the Second Coming in 1840. Although some of the signs of the Second Coming of Christ in Matthew 24, signs like earthquakes Tsunami), famine, nations warring against one another or the ominous threat thereof, and deception have been experienced on a global scale, Pastor Georges gave four of signs that would serve as the prelude to the Armageddon.
“During His Second Coming, He’ll set up His Temple on Mount Moriah from where His glory will be more splendid and scintillating than that of King Solomon. Charles Burgin said in 1840 that ‘there are signs yet to come for the Coming of the Lord. The first sign can be found in 2 Peter 3: 3, ‘Above all you must understand that on the last day scoffers, mockers will come scoffing and following their own evil desires.’
“Trumpets will sound, and the children of God will enter the Gate of Heaven and will be united with the dead. The redeemed will sing ‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, the Bright Morning Star.’”
Daniel 12: 4 points out, “But you Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.“ “The second sign, according to Burgin, would be an increase in knowledge as Daniel had prophesied.
“They have started manufacturing computerized cars that all you have to do is sit in it and it will take you to where you want to go. They want to manufacture an aircraft that will take you to Africa in 30 mins. They are creating nuclear weapons that can wipe out the entire universe with the switch of a button. We have become victims of the increase in knowledge,” the Blessed Man of God.
The third sign is prophesied in Zechariah 14: 12-16, “This is the plague with which the Lord will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem. Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet; their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. On that day, people will be stricken with great panic. . . .”
The Apostle of God gave the fourth sign as the rebirth of Israel. “On His way to Calvary, Christ looked at Jerusalem and wept, but He told the women not to weep for Him. He asked the women to weep for their children. Under the reign of Titus, there was widespread famine that was so severe that they abandoned the Promised Land.
Prophet Isaiah who prophesied the birth of Christ the Messiah also prophesied the rebirth of Jerusalem (Israel) and its prosperity and growth in tremendous wealth and power. “Isaiah 66: 8 says, ‘Who has ever heard of such things? Who has ever seen things like this? Can a country be born in a day or a nation be brought forth in a moment? Yet no sooner was Zion in labor than she gave birth to her children . . .
Pastor Georges delved into the rebirth of Zion by the United Nations on June 15, 1948.
“On that day, Israelis woke up to the sound of trumpet to the news that Israel has been declared a sovereign state. Until then, Jerusalem was in the hands of Moslems.
“They returned to Israel to a land they could call their own barely three years after Adolf Hitler and the Nazis had unleashed a vicious pogrom on them and annihilated 6 million of them during World War II.
The Apostle of God intimated that the fig tree is symbolic of Israel. He cited Matthew 24: 32-35: “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree; as soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near . . . .
“Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.”
Pastor Georges didn’t forget to mention Israel’s six-day war against Egypt when then Prime Minister Golda Meyer defeated President Anwat Sadat to capture Jerusalem, prompting Israelis to start believing in the Lord again. “Today Israel is a place of worship again. All nations are there to worship and praise the Lord,” said the Blessed Man of God.
He mentioned the two witnesses of the Apocalypse as Enoch and Elijah, both of whom would come and battle against the antichrist fiercely but in the end, they like Christ’s disciples at the First Coming, would also be decapitated. Their decapitation would be the last sign for the Return. The Rapture of the Church will also occur at this time.
He cited Rev. 11: 9-10, Rev. 6, Heb. 9: 27, Matt. 24: 27, and Matt. 24: 7-8 to authenticate his powerful sermon. “Everything God created, he did for a purpose. It’s time for you to surrender your life to Christ. It’s time to say I am sorry for what I did because it’s nota representation of your kingdom.
“I was naked and you clothed me; after you had called the righteous, I was sick and they prayed for me; I was hungry but the righteous fed me; I was in prison and the righteous visited me. If you don’t do this, you are a goat. On the last day, angels will escort goats away and burn them in the fire of lake where there will be gnashing of teeth. The End is near; that’s the Truth,” concluded the Apostle of God evocatively.
